Butterfly Comics

This is a thumbnail for a short story that I am working on entitled,“Butterfly.”

This story started as 8 page comics, then I edited to 3 page, only to realize that I need to tell more back-story, so right now it stands at 6 page. I'll keep the production progress updated.

Brooklyn Comicon!!

Brooklyn Comicon was held at Our Lady of Consolation Church (184 Metropolitan Ave. in Williamsburg) this weekend. This was a great opportunity to see more than 50 artists' displayed comics related works. Contemporary greats like Adrian Tomine, Jillian Tamaki, and Koren Shadoni were there!
I especially enjoyed book called "Pebble Island" by Jon McNaught, published by Nobrow Press. I'm impressed with their collection of cute, quality books, so please check them out!

Hello LA!!

I'm in LALA land for the Thanksgivingweekend. The last time I was in LA was when I was 13 when I went to Catalina Island for YMCA summer camp. It was a crazy experience as I spent two weeks with about 300 American kids, and I didn't speak English that well.

The biggest difference I noticed between NYC and LA is that in LA, you need a car to get around. I'm used to taking subways, buses, and walking everywhere, and I am not being used to getting in and out of the car every 15 minutes. Never the less,  I'm gonna enjoy theCalifornia sun! Have a great Thanks Giving weekend everyone!

New York Comicon!!

The New York Comicon was held at Javits center this weekend.

Thumbnail for 3 page Comics

I started to work on a three page comics entitled "Mysterious Ring". I wanted to exercise how to tell a true story in comics form. Now I've completed the thumbnail, the next step is to make sure that the whole thing flows well, and if there is a frame that I don't particularly like, I do a few sketches with different angle, point of view, etc, until I'm satisfied with it.

Pictureless Comics

Doing a picture-less comics is a great exercise for comics story telling, as you can't rely on the image to tell a story. Here's the explanation for this piece: a couple gets lost in a snowstorm after their skiing trip. They seek refugee in a small cabin, only to find a bear already taking comfort inside.

24 Hour Comics

“24 Hour Comics,” started by Scott McCloud in 1990, will be held in NYC this weekend. Here's the definition for this unique event from the official website, http://24hcd.blogspot.com,24-Hour Comics Day is an event held around the world which challenges writers and artists to create a full 24-page comic in 24 consecutive hours. Thousands of artists take the 24-Hour Comics Day Challenge every year!”

This is a great exercise as you're not paying too much attention to the quality of the comics, but you're just getting some story and drawing done!
